For June's Patch Tuesday Microsoft is patching 50 CVEs and releasing 2 advisories. Adobe Flash is back, as always, with a roll up patch for multiple remote code execution vulnerabilities. Since a zero day remote code exploit was discovered in the wild just last week (CVE-2018-5002) you should definitely make sure that your Flash installation is patched (if you still use Flash at all, that is). The other advisory is a roll-up "Defense in Depth" patch for the Office Suite.
Over all there only eleven vulnerabilities patched that are rated Critical. However, the wide majority of those vulnerabilities are remote code execution affecting web browsing, either in Internet Explorer or MS Edge directly, the scripting engines for VBScript and JScript, or the HTTP protocol stack. This includes a zero day vulnerability (CVE-2018-8267) disclosed without a patch on June 1st. The vulnerability was discovered by Trend Micro's Zero Day Initiative and reported to Microsoft at the end of January. They released it on the 1st after hitting the 120 day disclosure deadline followed by ZDI. Luckily there is no known public exploit for this vulnerability. In addition, the vulnerability only allows code execution inside a "sandbox" that is implemented specifically to limit the damage from exploits like this. In order to be used for something like malware installation a criminal would need to chain an exploit for this vulnerability with a second exploit to break out of the sandbox. These two factors should hopefully give the public some time to apply patches before this vulnerability presents a real threat.
The final 39 vulnerabilities are all rated Important and include patches for components of the Windows OS itself and multiple client side applications like the Office suite and Internet Explorer. There are also several server side applications including a denial of service vulnerabilities in the core web server component, HTTP.sys as well as in Hyper-V and a privilege escalation vulnerability in SharePoint.
With all of these zero days flying make sure you get to patching as soon as you can.
