Here’s What Trustwave is Planning for RSA Conference USA 2014

Written by Dan Kaplan | Feb 20, 2014

RSA Conference 2014 is storming into San Francisco next week, and Trustwave is raring to go. Here's a quick primer of what you can expect from the conference itself and how we plan to spend our time at the show.

What's the show all about?

The conference is huge - more than 20,000 people are expected to attend. And every one of those individuals will be pressed for time, given the ample selection of sessions to attend, booths to visit, people to meet with and beverages to consume. (The show is known for its raucous shindigs - and there's even a Twitter RSA party account to follow so you'll be in the know. Whether you get past the velvet rope, well, that's a different story).

The conference at the expansive Moscone Center features hundreds of speaker sessions spread across multiple tracks - such as Mobile Security, Hackers and Threats, and Analytics and Forensics - with talks ranging from the deeply technical to the strategic. In addition, the convention plays host to expo space spread over hundreds of thousands of square feet, where more than 350 vendors will be on hand to showcase their solutions. For the first time this year, there will be two expo floors - one in the North Hall and another in the South Hall.

What is Trustwave up to?

Our theme this year is "Escape the Pressures." We just released our 2014 Security Pressures Report, which measures and chronicles the pressures facing IT security professionals - from advanced threats and skills shortages to tight budgets and challenges posed by emerging technologies. The pressures are plentiful, and Trustwave wants to help you alleviate them.

We've set up shop at Booth #3527 in the North Hall. It's a place to learn how to escape the pressures of your job - and literally escape the craziness of the show. We'll be broadcasting Security Pressures Theater, which will help you better understand the findings of the Security Pressures Report. We'll also be hosting live demos so you can experience TrustKeeper, our cloud and managed security services portal, up close.

We mentioned how crazy the show can get, and we also want our booth to be considered a sanctuary from all the bedlam. So consider it a chill-out spot, where you can come get away from the crowd for a while. We'll be serving smoothies in the morning and snow cones in the afternoon. We also have lots of cool swag to give away! Come say hi.

Do you have anyone giving talks?

We do - four of them to be exact! Throughout the year, our elite SpiderLabs team is hard at work conducting cutting-edge research that helps us build better products and services, and helps you understand how to better protect yourself. And we're excited to have the opportunity to present this material to such a receptive audience.
