SC Media calls out Trustwave’s ability to maximize the value of their Microsoft Security tools for clients.
Trustwave was honored by SC Media with its prestigious SC Trust Award for Best Managed Security Service in recognition of its Managed Extended Detection and Response (MXDR) for Microsoft.
"We're grateful to see our Managed Extended Detection and Response (MXDR) for Microsoft solution recognized by SC Media," said Jesse Emerson Trustwave Senior VP of Product Management & Solutions Engineering. "At Trustwave, we've invested heavily in our partnership with Microsoft and continually strive to create and deliver offerings that meet and exceed the expectations of our clients. We're very proud to have those efforts recognized."
The 2025 SC Awards entries were evaluated across 33 specialty categories by a distinguished panel of judges, comprised of cybersecurity professionals, industry leaders, and members of the CyberRisk Alliance CISO community, representing sectors such as healthcare, financial services, education, and technology.
Trustwave MXDR for Microsoft delivers 24/7 unified security operations, providing real-time threat hunting, detection, investigation, and response across endpoints, identities, cloud applications, and email. The service is built to address advanced threats such as multi-stage attacks, insider breaches, identity compromises, and cloud vulnerabilities.
"Trustwave's solution helps businesses maximize the value of their Microsoft Security tools and optimize their security posture while mitigating risks posed by sophisticated adversaries, including nation-state actors and organized criminal groups," SC Media said in announcing the award.
Trustwave rolled out MXDR for Microsoft in June 2024, and, along with Trustwave's portfolio of Microsoft Accelerators, it is designed to help clients unlock the full potential of their Microsoft security product stack.
Trustwave also has a step-up offering, MXDR Elite for Microsoft with Co-Managed SOC available. This version adds a mature methodology for effective co-managed security operations, frequent collaboration with Trustwave experts, and custom configurations and content.
Trustwave’s MDR service is intended to help customers manage the security tools they already have, notably endpoint detection and response (EDR) and security information and event management (SIEM) systems. In some cases, that includes properly tuning the EDR and SIEM tools to alert on truly important issues, as opposed to every potential threat.
Another aspect of Trustwave’s MSS capabilities is our ability to move a client from one platform to Microsoft to improve their security posture.
Perhaps the best way to understand Trustwave’s skill at this task is through a case study.
Trustwave recently worked with a large European bank that wanted to adopt a Microsoft-first approach to security with Microsoft Sentinel at the center. Trustwave provided a series of security solutions, including serving as a Managed Security Services Provider (MSSP) with Microsoft-specific additional skills to satisfy this requirement.
During Trustwave’s initial conversations with the bank, the client noted that its current MSSP had restrictive development on logbooks and alerts and the IP also resided with the MSSP’s platform, which the financial institution didn’t desire. The bank wanted to maintain the existing monitoring and alerting capability along with any new use cases that would be developed as part of the service. It also wanted access to a greater suite of security products to help mitigate the risk of blind spots.
An additional concern was time. The financial institution wanted to move quickly given its current service expiration date was due to expire. It was imperative that the new services had to be in place within three weeks.
Trustwave was able to complete the agreed phase one onboarding and migration objectives by the client’s deadline, with all Microsoft log sources ingested into Sentinel, the respective use cases being active, and our SOC monitoring for IOCs and malicious activity.
The Trustwave solution adopted by the client included:
