Written by | Feb 7, 2022

With security risks continuously mounting and the threat landscape evolving at record speed, organizations are seeking the guidance of Managed Security Service Providers (MSSPs).

So, why do firms leverage MSSPs and what are the benefits of these investments?

To help organizations better understand the role MSSPs play and how they can help better secure your company, Trustwave and SC Media are hosting a live webinar, The Age of MSSPs: Uncovering the Why’s of Managed Services, on February 17, at 2 p.m. EST.

WEBINAR

The Age of MSSPs: Uncovering the Why’s of Managed Services

In this session, we’ll break down how MSSPs help to address challenges with: technology management, operations and chain security management. We’ll also discuss some things to look for in an MSSP to help keep your organization secure.

MSSPs serve as an outsourced function of an IT team, handling those aspects of security that cannot be done in-house due to talent shortages or because the existing staff must oversee higher value projects. Whether requiring a full security operations center (SOC) or just needing alerts set up and monitored across numerous standards, MSSPs are best leveraged when internal IT resources are limited and the expectation for greater involvement over time is low.

MSSPs also emphasize excellence in security technology maintenance and cyber hygiene. When evaluating an MSSP, one will want to understand the MSSP’s process for maintaining skills and certifications in the technologies they manage, how they integrate technology management with detection and response services, and how often you can communicate with them before incurring additional fees.

The analyst firm Gartner recently found that 26 percent of mid-size enterprises (MSE) - defined by Gartner as organizations with $50 million to $1 billion in revenue – say they lack the in-house personnel to handle security. Additionally, the research company noted that pairing a Manages Security Service with a Managed Detection and Response solution can help companies close their security gap.

In addition, Trustwave was cited by the analyst firm Forrester as a leader, with Trustwave earning the highest scores possible in the incident response process, reporting capabilities, delivery model strategy, user experience roadmap, and service provider roadmap criteria, in the Forrester Wave: Global Managed Security Service Providers, Q3 2020 evaluation.

In this session Trustwave’s Director of Sales Engineering, Dan Gravelle, will further break down how MSSPs help address challenges with technology management, operations, and chain security management. Gravelle will also go over some points on how to choose the best MSSP to help keep your organization secure. He will also cover:

Gravelle will be joined in the webinar by Bill Brenner, vice president of content, Cyber Risk Alliance.

If you are unable to attend the live webinar you can still check out the content. By registering now you will receive a recording of the session.

I originally had are seeking the guidance of Managed Security Service Providers (MSSPs) like Trustwave, but I thought that might be a too much, but if you think that woks put it back in.
