Trustwave Recognized in the IDC MarketScape for Managed Cloud Security Services for the Multi-cloud Era

Trustwave has been recognized in the IDC MarketScape: Worldwide Managed Cloud Security Services in the Multicloud Era Vendor Assessment (doc #US48761022, September 2022). Trustwave, a pure-play cybersecurity services provider, is well positioned in the market. It shows the market acceptance for specialized security skills from its MSS providers.

IDC MarketScape vendor analysis model is designed to provide an overview of the competitive fitness of ICT suppliers in a given market. The research methodology utilizes a rigorous scoring methodology based on both qualitative and quantitative criteria that results in a single graphical illustration of each vendor’s position within a given market. The Capabilities score measures vendor product, go-to-market and business execution in the short-term. The Strategy score measures alignment of vendor strategies with customer requirements in a 3-5-year timeframe. Vendor market share is represented by the size of the icons

The IDC MarketScape evaluated 18 providers against requirements deemed most important by security organizations in searching for an MSS with cloud security services for a hybrid, multi-cloud world. The IDC MarketScape noted that Trustwave’s recent strategic moves and business management helped position it as a Major Player in the report.

“Our position in the IDC MarketScape is a testament to the breadth of our portfolio and our elite cybersecurity expertise," said Trustwave CEO Eric Harmon. "We are committed to continuing to invest in cutting-edge technology and people to help organizations across the globe protect their critical data from the evolving threat landscape.”

The IDC MarketScape noted that Trustwave's portfolio is enabled by four foundational elements: the services portfolio that fuses consulting and managed services on a global scale, the Fusion platform, SpiderLabs threat research centers, and strategic partnerships, which include Microsoft and Palo Alto Networks.

"Trustwave, in a strategic move in 2021, divested its PCI compliance business and sharpened its focus on offering high-value, cloud-first (not cloud only) security offerings and delivering customer outcomes,” the IDC MarketScape stated in the report.  Further, Trustwave’s “follow-the-sun” model and its SpiderLabs threat research centers are differentiators for the company.   Staffed by approximately 250 experts, researchers, and penetration testers and roughly 100 dedicated software engineers, Trustwave can identify gaps in an organization’s security program, and quickly and efficiently detect and respond to threats.

Trustwave's Strengths

The IDC MarketScape noted, “The modular portfolio of services enables customers to choose complementary offerings. Flexible pricing models can incorporate both on-premises and cloud environments into a proposal that aligns with a customer's desired consumption methods.”

In addition, the IDC MarketScape said, “Buyer's rate Trustwave strongly on its effective use of emerging technologies and assets as well as tools used in the engagement. Trustwave's Fusion platform is fully integrated and core to the delivery of MSS, MDR, and/or co-managed SOC services. The platform, which uses ML, can store, process, correlate, and analyze data according to Trustwave's content rules.”

The report also noted, “Trustwave customers appreciate the technical expertise shown by its staff, frequency of customer engagement, effective onboarding, and overall customer success/customer service support.”

"Small/midsize companies and large enterprises with varying levels of security maturity that prefer MSS, MDR, and co-managed SOC offers targeted to each segment will want to consider Trustwave. Also, companies with a mix of on-premises and cloud estates or those in the process of moving to cloud should consider Trustwave's holistic offerings that fuse consulting and managed services," the IDC MarketScape stated.
